Wiltshire Council - Council Tax 2011/2012

Wiltshire Council has produced a leaflet which explains how your bill is calculated and how your money helps to pay for your public services in Wiltshire. It provides budget information for Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, as well as the charges made by parish and town councils.   Click on the link Council Tax to download this information. Wootton Bassett & Cricklade Area Board - Community Grant Scheme

The Wootton Bassett & Cricklade Area Board runs a Community Grant Scheme encouraging voluntary groups to apply for up to £5,000 for community projects. Click on the application form link for more information.

Litter/Dog Litter Bins
Please note that both litter and dog faeces bins can be used for both litter and dog faeces. The Town Council has received a number of complaints recently regarding dogs fouling the streets of Cricklade especially the Gas Lane Footpath.  The Dog Warden has been alerted and will be patrolling the areas concerned.

Flooding
Please continue to keep us informed of any further flood incidents and collect all the evidence possible.  Flooding is a complex issue and solutions are not going to be achieved overnight.  However, if we continue to work together, we can keep the issues visible and apply pressure to the appropriate bodies.

Climate Change
Cricklade Town Council has responded to the increasing concerns of local residents and organisations and has formally pledged to support its local community to tackle climate change. A Resolution has been passed by the Council to:-
Sign the ‘Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change’ as a public declaration of its commitment to this important issue.

  • Develop, adopt and implement an action plan to get its own house in order and reduce its impact on the environment
  • Nominate a Councillor as a Climate Champion to help set up a local action group to plan and deliver a range of activities to raise awareness of climate change issues and engage as many people as possible in doing their bit.

Cllr Lynn Forrester has been nominated the local Climate Champion and would like to hear from as many people and local organisations as possible who are interested in starting up a Climate Action Group.  If anyone is interested in helping, please contact Lynn on (01793 751297) or e-mail lynnforrester@cricklade-tc.gov.uk
